COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
- Volunteer in the community and get to know who the leaders in the community are.
- Engage with your local Business Improvement are (BIA) and get to know some of the business leaders in your community.
- Attend and maybe sponsor a community event.
- Get to know who some of the cultural leaders are.
- Engage with and become a member of your community league
- Make your business an inclusive space by welcoming all members of the community.
- Consider developing a pay it forward initiative like a suspended coffee program for example
- Allow all patrons to use your washroom
- Allow all patrons to use your phone
- Learn how to navigate 211 and 311 services
- Consider crisis intervention training
- Consider training with how to use a Naloxone Kit
ENVIRONMENTAL
RESPONSIBILITY
- Source your business resources locally.
- Reduce energy and waste by being more mindful of how you use your resources.
- Use reusable resources like metal cutlery or glassware.
- Refuse wasteful practices like the use of plastic bags.
- Consider organic composting of biodegradable wastes.
